Voice metal sheet – 1965
The BASCHET brothers have given many concerts with Jacques et Yvonne Lassry, but also many other musicians, notably an indian Tampoura player. It is following the departure of this musician and in order to replace the Tampoura that the voice metal sheet was born. It was about getting very deep sounds in the low frequencies.
Four vertical strings producing a frone bass, are tightened at the back of the instrument while a foundation string is at the front. A double bent metal sheet is made to vibrate under the influence of the voice which is in this way amplified and transformed. (dim. 1230 x 90 x 90)
Get close up and sing in front of the centre of the metal sheet.
