Five Crosses - 1958
The majority of the BASCHET sound sculptures have medium or long resonances. Through the search of brief sounds to complete their range, the BASCHET brothers have continued their research on metal plates.
According to the quality and the treatment of steel, its method of fabrication, the tone colour will be different, some will remind of traditional instruments sounds, wooded, damp, or dry. The « crosses » family, including this one, is the one which is the closest to classical or ethnic percussion instruments. It is declined in three models, seven crosses with dampers, five crosses and three crosses (instrumentarium). (dim. 100 x 110 x 70)
